Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician born in Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The first album she released on the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she began gaining fame. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded music online in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013, the mixtape Five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound, as well as the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's reference. Then, later in the year, her music circulated all over Dreamville. In December 2008, it was announced that Rihanna had been hired to Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she recorded together with Cozz on her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. On October 21, 2016 her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and was an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks by EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video was also released on September 5th. Then, on the 9th of November 2018 she dropped two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November 2013, she released her debut album No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby was then able to make appearances in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. In February of 2019, a music video was released for the song. It has already received nearly three million hits on YouTube within the first week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
