Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best well-known for her character of detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she won an Emmy Award. Kim Delaney is known for playing Detective Diane Russell on the ABC series NYPD Blue. Also, she was a part of the drama show All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney was the child of an executive at the United Auto Workers who was also an auntie. Delaney has four older brothers. She dreamed of becoming a court reporter in the early years of her life, however she began modelling in high school eventually garnering commercials when she moved to New York. When she was a teenager the first time she appeared as an actor was on the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Delaney was a talented young actress from the 1980s has appeared in several films TV movies and dramas. Contrary to her successful professional life, Delaney's personal one is not as successful and happy. The accomplished actor has struggled with alcoholism and she has experienced two divorces. Her custody was taken away from her son in 2005.
